Creator Authorization & Licensing Policy

Overview

Obsidian Guild Studios is a licensed Patreon creator. The collectibles we produce and sell are based on original designs created by Obsidian Guild Studios and/or designs for which we hold a valid commercial print-and-sell license obtained directly through the original sculptor or creator's Patreon or licensing program.

We are committed to supporting the artist community by operating transparently within the terms of each license we hold.

Our Licensing Model

All designs sold by Obsidian Guild Studios fall into one of the following categories:

Original Designs — Sculpted or commissioned exclusively by and for Obsidian Guild Studios. Full commercial rights are held by Obsidian Guild Studios.
Licensed Designs — Designs created by independent sculptors or Patreon creators for which Obsidian Guild Studios holds a valid commercial print-and-sell license. These authorize us to print, finish, and sell physical copies of the design within the terms specified by the original creator.

Each product page will indicate the design origin and, where applicable, credit the original sculptor or creator.

Creator Attribution

We believe in crediting the artists behind every piece. Where a design is licensed from an independent creator or Patreon sculptor, the original artist will be credited on the product page. We encourage collectors to support these creators directly through their Patreon pages and official channels.

Fan Art & Franchise IP — Important Notice

Some collectibles produced by Obsidian Guild Studios are inspired by characters, worlds, or themes from third-party intellectual property ("IP"), including but not limited to video games, anime, film, and comics franchises.

These pieces are independently produced fan-art collectibles and are not officially licensed, endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with the original IP holders or their licensees. All franchise names, character names, and related marks referenced in product descriptions are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for descriptive identification purposes.

Obsidian Guild Studios does not claim any ownership of, or rights to, the underlying franchise IP. Our commercial print-and-sell licenses are obtained from the independent sculptors who created the designs. These sculptor licenses authorize the production and sale of the physical sculpt; they do not represent or imply authorization from the franchise IP holder.

Collectors should be aware that fan-art collectibles exist in a legal gray area. Obsidian Guild Studios operates in good faith, credits all artists, and takes compliance seriously. If you are an IP rights holder and have concerns about a specific product, please contact us immediately at support@obsidianguildstudios.com and we will respond within 5 business days.

What Your Purchase Includes

When you purchase a collectible from Obsidian Guild Studios, you are purchasing a physical, hand-finished collectible for personal display purposes only. Your purchase does not include:

The underlying digital design files (STL or otherwise)
Any right to reproduce, copy, or print additional copies of the design
Any commercial rights to the design or likeness
Any license to resell the design in digital or physical form
Any rights to the underlying franchise IP depicted

Collector Use Rights

You may:

Display the collectible in your personal collection
Photograph and share images of the piece for personal, non-commercial purposes (e.g., social media, collector communities)
Resell the physical collectible as a secondhand item, provided it is sold as-is without modification or misrepresentation

You may not:

Reproduce, scan, or reverse-engineer the design for printing or commercial use
Represent the piece as officially licensed merchandise from the franchise IP holder
Represent the piece as your own original work
Use the piece or its likeness for commercial purposes without written authorization from Obsidian Guild Studios and the original creator (where applicable)

IP Rights Holder Inquiries & Takedown Requests

Obsidian Guild Studios respects intellectual property rights and takes all rights holder inquiries seriously. If you are an IP rights holder or authorized representative and believe a product listed on our store infringes your rights, please contact us at support@obsidianguildstudios.com with the following information:

Your name and contact information
The IP you own or represent
The specific product(s) you believe infringe your rights
A description of the basis for your claim

We will investigate all valid notices and respond within 5 business days. Products subject to a valid rights holder claim will be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed from sale promptly.

License Compliance

Obsidian Guild Studios takes licensing compliance seriously. We actively review the licenses we hold, credit all contributing artists, and maintain records of our print-and-sell authorizations. If you believe a design we sell is being offered outside the terms of an applicable sculptor license, please contact us at support@obsidianguildstudios.com.
